About us
A sporting and entertainment centre, two hours from Melbourne
Beside Benalla’s Botanical Gardens, the club is a home for bowlers, diners and everyone in between.
Who we are
A not-for-profit club, run for its members and the town
The club’s main purpose is to facilitate and promote the game of lawn bowls. Its charter also asks it to promote all sports and to provide hospitality for members and the wider community. As a not-for-profit, every dollar raised is reinvested in the club.
We are a licensed sporting club with two needle punch greens and two turf greens. The bistro seats 160, and the function rooms take small or large events of up to 300.
We cater for seminars, weddings, birthdays, wakes and funerals, corporate events, private parties, bowls events and live entertainment. The club is open to people of all backgrounds and abilities, and we aim to keep it comfortable, welcoming and safe for everyone who walks in.

AGM 2025: a rebuilt Green A, and plans for the lights
The AGM was held on Thursday 13 November, with 32 attendees. Members voted to engage a company for a feasibility study on the Dome project, and the club will seek a grant to improve the lighting on the greens.
Green A
- Turf removed, with sand delivered the week of 17 November.
- Sprigs sourced from Wangaratta Bowls Club.
- Laser levelling after growth in January.
- A playable green by May 2026.
The goal is an outstanding, highly playable green in six months. The club is also looking into digital honour boards, and into an EV charger for the car park.
The Outdoor Bowls Section is looking for volunteers for social events and barefoot bowls, and there is a vacancy on the Board. Call the club on (03) 5762 2094 to get involved.
